IELTS : International English Language Testing System
Duration : 6 weeks
The
IELTS (International English Language Testing System)
tests the complete range of English language skills
that are necessary for students who intend to study
in Britain, Canada, New Zealand or Australia, or
desire to relocate in one of these countries.
The
test comprises of four modules as under:
Listening Section
Reading Section
Writing Section
Speaking Section
All
IELTS candidates are required take the same Listening
and Speaking test modules. Depending on the students’
individual status, they have the option of either
the Academic Reading and Writing test modules
or the General Training Reading and Writing test
modules. The Academic options apply to candidates
planning to undertake higher education abroad,
whereas the General Training options are intended
for those planning to undertake non-academic training
or to acquire work experience, or for immigration
purposes.

- THE RESULTS Results are returned to the candidates within
two weeks in the form of a Test Report Form.
Candidates receive scores
on a band scale from 1 to 9
Candidates receive a score
for each module of the test as well as an
overall score.
Overall Band Scores and
Listening and Reading Band Scores are reported
in half bands. Writing and Speaking
Band Scores are reported in whole Bands.
There is no pass or fail
mark
The IELTS Handbook provides
a written ‘Interpretation of Results’.
Results are recommended
as valid for two years.

You can attend tests every Friday. The results
will be published on the Notice board by the
following Sunday.
Our instructors are experienced teachers
who will use a variety of practice materials,
including role- play techniques,
to assist you with the oral component of the
test.
Your teacher will also assist you with any
particular difficulties during your coursework.
You will receive an IELTS Application Form
with a copy of the booklet, ‘Information
for Candidates’, so that you
can apply for the final test at the British
Council.
During the course of your studies, our Study
